It's amazing how things are different with a second child... even less than a year later.
With Samantha, I went crazy shopping beforehand... lots of clothes and stuff. Of course, a baby shower was thrown for her, so we got a lot of gifts. With Maggie, I had pretty much everything clothing wise, and there wasn't a baby shower.
With Samantha, I picked out the crib set that I really liked, made sure her room was painted the perfect shade of pink, had everything ready to go before her birth... with Maggie, she doesn't technically have a room yet. Her crib is in a box in our livingroom. We haven't purchased a dresser yet. She'll be moving into Sam's room, once we get the guest room moved to the basement, and paint Samantha's new room. She'll be using the crib set we purchased for Samantha. (Which I must say- a pointless purchase! You can't use the quilt!)
Samantha had a pacifier from day one. More like hour one. Maggie, hopefully, will never use a pacifier.
With Samantha I was up everytime she made a noise, worried something was wrong. With Maggie, I know that every noise does not mean something horrible is happening. Her cries mean she's hungry or dirty. And she's fine.
I never thought it would be that different between Samantha and Maggie and all the things I did... but it is. The only thing that's not really different is the amazing love I have for both of them, and how big my heart feels from all the emotion and feeling I have for these two little girls!
