Another Tuesday has made it... yay... another time to really put my thinking cap on and try to remember what's happening in my life. Ha!
1. I'm a mommy to one this week. Gavin is having lots of snuggle time. Probably too much snuggle time. It's always difficult with all three when Gavin thinks he should be getting all the snuggles. I know Maggie would agree with me. She always wants her one-on-one time, and gets extremely jealous when Samantha or Gavin has it. I think she would love being an only child. :)
2. We are home from Florida. Obviously. It was a week without the internet, tv, and it was great!
3. I have a lot of unpacking to do. Laundry. The normal. I think I need another vacation. :)
4. Gavin now has 6 teeth!
5. So, Maggie has a realllllllllllllllly stubborn side. I don't think the "l's" in my really even explain it. My brother and sister-in-law are expecting their first baby in October. When we were visiting, I think we scared them a little about children, because of how Maggie was acting. (Well, scared my brother, more than my sister-in-law.) Maggie & Samantha were "playing" and Maggie ended up tackling Samantha, and then started biting her arm. My mom and I were trying to get Maggie to stop, Samantha was screaming, and inside, I was freaking out. Embarassment, mostly. Maggie bit Sam so hard that she drew blood. Ouch. Yikes. *&%*)! Maggie has been biting a lot lately. I think it's her way of venting her frustrations for not talking very much. She has her key phrases, which include "one more," "no," "NO!!!," and "uh-huh." But when she wants something, and we don't understand, her frustration sets in, she becomes very unhappy and very stubborn. It's frustrating not only for Maggie, but for us as well. We've really tried working with Maggie to speak more, but Samantha doesn't understand the concept of not interrupting, and not answering for Maggie. Therefore, Maggie really doesn't get what she wants to say out. *Sigh.* I know it will come in time, but it's frustrating now because I want her to be happy, and explain what she wants, without being upset.
6. I took a break from this blog entry to go on a walk. Twice. Gavin loves it outside.
7. We looked into the community development program in Sioux Falls. We are getting a really great deal on fixing up our home. We've decided to pour all the money into painting... and maybe there will be some left over for other projects as well. We had someone come look at our home and take paint samples, and the process isn't going to be as easy as we thought. Our home was built in 1923... so there was a risk for lead paint. Well, acceptable levels of lead paint, without having to jump through hoops to repaint, is 0.6. One of our paint levels was 6.9! So let the hoop jumping begin!
8. Brandon and I did some quick planting yesterday evening when he came home from work. We have some digging and finishing to do hopefully tonight. It all depends on Gavin and napping!
9. Did I tell you about what my hubby brought home? A 3 foot Scooby Doo. I dislike too many stuffed animals, and I especially dislike stuffed animals that stand 3 feet tall.
10. A girl I went to high school with ended up having the same surgery I had yesterday. It was interesting sharing our stories with one another. Her headaches didn't show up until pregnancy, and she had the same chiari malformation that I had! I'm so hopeful that her surgery is as successful as mine was. She's definitely been on my mind, especially yesterday during surgery. I hope she has a quick, and as pain free as she can get recovery!
Happy Tuesday!
Melissa

I'm so glad you and Jenny have each other to talk to about what you've been through and what you're going through. I'm also glad that you've both found relief!
