November is National Adoption Month! I am very thankful for my adoption. A friend shared the following,
Four adoption terms defined: Natural child: any child who is not artificial.
Real parent: any parent who is not imaginary.
Your own child: any child who is not someone else’s child.
Adopted child: a natural child, with a real parent, who is all my own.
So many people ask me if I have "real" parents. I respond, " well they aren't made of cheese... They are human." ..."oh, so your adoptive parents are your real parents?" -" well,I'm their real child." People get too caught up in terms. We are a family.
