It's a small world, after all.

Happy Birthday, America.
(a day late)

I told Samantha yesterday that it was America's Birthday.
She sang Happy Birthday...
She then asked, "who's America? Have I met him?"

Insert: History lesson for a 4 year old.
"Mommy, I'll learn later."

We headed to Savers (thrift store), since everything was 30% off.
Books, clothes, and (unfortunately) small dinosaurs were purchased.
Next, we headed to the mall to play, and eat lunch.
Maggie: "BUR KING!! NOOOOW"
At 10 am, we weren't going to eat lunch.
So playing (and people watching) ensued.

An example of people watching:
I'm not really sure why the rent-a-cop needs a segway.
At one point, he had one hand is his pocket...
He had one hand in his pocket, and the other one was driving the segway.

Mr. Mall Cop,
Great segway driving skills.
And nice helmet.
I hope you can do something with the helmet, since you don't even carry pepper spray.
Love,
Mel

Anyway- back to my kiddos...
Maggie concentrating...

Sammy girl, taking a break.

My little American Girls playing.

Princesses and Dare Devils.

Then, it was time for lunch... you guessed it, the kiddos had "BUR KING!"

We followed lunch with a walk around the mall...
And then they begged to play again.

However, they saw the little train that goes around the mall...
We were in a giving mood, and paid to ride the train.
Rules:
1. Don't stand up.
2. Smile & Wave at everyone.

Have you seen Madagascar?
The penquins say "Smile and wave, boys... smile and wave!"

So does Samantha.

After a lot of smiling and waving:
Boredom set in.

More playing:

Then, from across the little playground (actually you can see her in this picture),
a blogger follower, and vice versa, found me.

I've always known that Kendra is close by...
But this was in the same area at the same time.

It's a small world after all... It's a small world after all.
We met. Talked. And then my girls ran around and around and around and around and around with her sweet boy, Klayton.

Small world!

(Kendra, I mean it, we do need play dates. The girls are still talking about Klayton.)

After about 4 hours at the mall, we headed home.
Nap time.
Dinner time.
Bed time.

The kiddos slept fine...
On the other hand, I did not... thanks fireworks and giant hail storm.
