I have a lot on my mind right now.
I'm upset with too many people... When really, why be upset with anyone? It just adds more stress to my life...... but I'm stubborn. I like to stand my ground. Especially when it comes to my children... especially when it comes to how I feel about family. I won't name any names, but I will say this: listen before you blow up. AND, think of YOUR family, too! Because, right now it would be really, really easy to write someone off.
Moving on.......
My dad is having a lot of health issues right now... PSA, Detatched Retna, and Heart troubles... so for those who pray, can you think about him? I know I am... I just hope that the heart troubles end up being nothing, and the detatched retna procedure fixes it all, and that the PSA issue goes back to normal.
(My writing today is very middle-school-ish... no big words, just ponderings... annoying.)
Post partum depression has been sucking me down lately. There are moments when I want to hide from Samantha & Maggie. What mother says that?! I hate crying in front of my kids. Somedays the tears come without warning... and Samantha always looks at me with so much confusion. I can't help but think I'm screwing them up in the long run. I just want them to be happy, emotionally, physically... what every parent wants.
But enough griping.
This weekend, we adopted a new dog. Yes, we're crazy. Yes, it's a full house. Ask the question, the answer is probably yes. Except for "are you getting rid of the dog (MOM)." Then the answer is no. The one year old scottish terrier really pulled on our heart strings. Brandon saw her first, at the flea market, and saw that she was free to a good home. The owner has a lot of health issues... and he swears he's going to die. He also swore he took great care of the dog, but yeah, right. Anyway, Brandon saw that she was pretty dirty, pretty sad, and needed a good home. I've been asking for a puppy for Christmas (like I said, I'm crazy), so Brandon said if I fell in love (haha) that we could take her home. It didn't take more than a second to see she was mistreated and needed a LOT of TLC. She became ours. Nutmeg was renamed Nessa Rose (the Wicked Witch of the East in WICKED), and introduced to our family. Samantha immediately bonded with her... Elphie (who we named for the Wicked Witch of the West in WICKED) warmed up quickly, and now they are inseperable. So, the Jacobs family has grown yet again, this time however, no unexpected pregnancies. HA!
Here's a picture of the new addition, Nessa Rose Jacobs:

And now...
Updates on my children:
* Samantha is hilarious. A few stories to share:
- We brought out the girls piggy banks, and showed Samantha how to put change into them. We told her to make sure she put some in Maggie's, too. She had a BLAST putting the change in the banks... and kept sneaking more into her bank. Priceless! Let's hope the saving kick stays with my children, and that they aren't like their mother and father in spending habits!
- Now if you ask Samantha what a gorrilla says, she beats her chest with her fists and says AHHHHH!!! So adorable!
- The other night, it was snowing, and Samantha would not leave the front door. (She loves looking outside.) She kept pointing at the snow and laughing. Finally, I told her that it was time for the snow to go "night-night." So she blew the snow a kiss, waved, and shut the door.
- Maggie is sitting now! (We have to put her in the sitting position, but she's working on lifting herself up.) She loves to sit, and then reach out and try to grab things... or her sister... or the dogs. Samantha likes her sitting up, more face to face I suppose, but now thinks that she can put Maggie wherever she wants..... yikes!
- I keep an animal book on the changing table, so that Samantha is distracted when I'm changing her diaper (otherwise it's a fight!). Now, I ask her to find me the ______.... monkey, dog, cat, duck, etc. And wouldn't you know, she gets them right most of the time!
Speaking of my lovely girls, here are a few pictures:
