Before I start- does anyone know if there's a linky to this idea somewhere? I like finding and reading new blogs!
Here goes... another attempt at 10- let's see how far my brain gets!
1. Speaking of brainloss... I was watching the Early Show and they had a report about "Mom-nesia." Apparently it's a good thing, since it means moms are focused on their children and not everything else. I'm glad it semi explains my seemingly loss of brain cells over the last two + years!
2. One down, nine to go... Fall has definitely arrived in Sioux Falls... and I think winter will be here before I'm ready! It's pretty chilly today- only in the 40s, low 50s, and extremely windy! Plus, the weather forecast said flurries this week... FLURRIES?! I know it's almost Novemburrrrrrr, but I've enjoyed the nice, unusual weather lately!
3. I realized today while attempting to do some chores, that we are down to our last trashbag, and the milk is almost gone. So I thought maybe, just maybe, that I would take the kids on a few errands with me. Then I looked at the wind outside, thought about the fact I'd have to carry Gavin is his car seat and get the two girls into whatever store, into a cart, and keep them happy while trying not to forget anything on the list. Needless to say, I still need trashbags and milk! I'm wondering when it is I'll be able to run any errand with all three kids... *sigh*
4. Maggie is starting to use real words! Samantha usually answers for her, but Maggie has said a few words and even short sentences in the last week or so. I'm so excited! Even though our family doctor reassured me that it's perfectly normal for second children, especially when they are as close in age as Sam & Maggie, to not speak as much, since their older sibling will answer for them (which Samantha seems to answer for everyone!). Well, I still didn't like it, and still worried that she wasn't saying much. She's very smart, and knows all sorts of things- body parts, animals, etc, but she just doesn't say very much. Today she told me she was a "monster" and started growling... although monster didn't really sound exactly right, I knew that's what she meant, since we've been pretending we're all monsters.
5. Half way there, folks! I'm trying to get a lot of jewelry and beaded accessories made in the next week. So far, one wine stopper has been accomplished. My mom is going to a craft show in Georgia with all my jewelry- goodness, and I want to have a wide variety. We'll see how much more I get made.
6. Brandon had an interview last Wednesday for the District Manager in Training position with his company. They were supposed to find out who was offered the position on Friday, but the Regional Manager was so impressed with the three that interviewed, he couldn't make up his mind. He's supposed to find out tomorrow. I'm hopeful, although B seems to think that someone else is a shoe-in since he's good friends with the district manager. We shall see! *Fingers Crossed!*
7. Brandon and I are joining a gym. Once I get the information on it. I'm excited. It will be a break during the day, and the kids will be able to go to the childcare at the gym and interact with other kids.
8. I'm really starting to get stuck on anything more to share... This past weekend, Brandon's aunt and uncle and three of his many cousins were in Sioux Falls for a family reunion with their other side. We were able to see everyone and catch up. It's been 5 years since we've seen one cousin, and 9 since one of the other's, so B really enjoyed catching up. They were quite close as kids, when Brandon would spend summers in North Dakota. He also lived with this aunt and uncle for a semester in high school.
9. So, Maggie looks like a little beaten up child. Yikes! On Saturday, Brandon was playing with her, and swung her backwards towards my face so she could give me a kiss... her head hit the chair I was sitting in. THEN, he accidently hit her with a shoe, when he was trying to wrangle her up and get her shoes on, not realizing where she was standing.... AND to top it all off, Sunday at my inlaws house, my MIL happened to be opening up the freezer door, while Maggie was running towards her, and wouldn't you know... SMACK! Maggie's head hit the freezer door just as it opened, leaving a goose egg on her forehead... she then managed to fall about an hour later, and smack the same spot. She's pretty resilient though, only cried for a minute!
10. And FINALLY, number TEN! Samantha, my darling child, is obsessed with my breast pump, and the fact that I have to pump. "Mommy, time to pump!" "Mommy, Gabin needs milk!" "Mommy, me's turn to pump! I feed Gabin!" Here's a picture to share:
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Melissa
