Yesterday morning, I had quite the crowd in my bed. Elphie, who is always in my bed every single night, Samantha, and eventually Maggie.
It was 3:30 am. I didn't really want the company. But, Mommy typically gives in. So there the girls were, hogging the bed, the covers, and my pillows. (Nobody messes with my pillows!)
After a little while, I felt some movement in the bed. I opened my eyes to see Maggie literally kicking Samantha out of the bed. Samantha was eventually on the ground, confused, tired, and angry.
"Moooooomy! Maggie can be really WITCHY in the morning!"
During hysterical laughter, I see Maggie moving over to the spot that she had kicked Samantha out of. More laughter. I then helped Sam back into the bed, to Maggie's "old" spot.
More bed hogging, sheet hogging, and pillow hogging ensued.
Mommy started feeling a little "witchy."
*Sigh.*
Mommy's a sucker.
On a side note- we're headed on a quick trip to Minneapolis to the Mall of America's aquarium and theme park. (I want to see how the girls do before realllllllly considering Disney World.) I told Samantha that we were going to stay in a hotel.
S: "I get to stay in a hotel?!?!"
Me: "yep. And on Saturday, we are going to an aquarium and riding rides, and going shopping!"
Sam: "oh. I was really excited until you said shopping. Kill joy, mommy!"
Yep... my daughter said "kill joy." Thank you Cinderella.
Oh, and I'm learning more and more every day to watch what I say... even in a whisper, because apparently my daughter has insane hearing.
The girls really like to play with these miniature Disney Princesses. They have most of them, and are always wanting more. However, for a long time, we only had Flynn (from Tangled). I would whisper to B, that "Flynn sure is getting abused!", when Maggie would make him kiss all the other dolls, and not just Rapunzel. (Thankfully, Samantha usually says "No Flynn (or Eugene, depending where they are in their pretending), this bed is for me only!") Well, Maggie picked out a new mini doll set, the "wedding series" from Toys R Us, that included 3 more princes.
Wanna know where I'm going with this?
The girls were playing with their dolls, and Samantha had Eric, and Maggie had Rapunzel. (For those that don't know/remember Disney, let me fill you in... because I have to watch these movies 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times... Eric is Ariel's- the Little Mermaid's- hubby.)
Sam: "May I kiss you?"
Maggie: "Ohhhh no, like Flynn."
Sam: "No, I don't like Flynn anymore. I like you. Mommy says Flynn was feeling abused."
Maggie: "Oh. Ok." *smooching sound*
Sam: "MOoooooOOOMy! Flynn is not abused anymore! Now we're abusing Eric!"
Yikes. An example of watching what I say. That, and when Samantha repeats "damnit" or "hell."
Like, when we were in the car not too long ago, and someone cut me off.
Samantha: "What the HELL was that lady doing?"
After reminding her that she shouldn't say that, she now informs me what I should and shouldn't say.
And finally, one more "ism" from my darling, almost 4 year old.
Yesterday, I was quickly paying bills, checking emails, and stalking facebook. I guess Samantha had heard me say to my Dad numerous times that there was more to life than his computer, or heard me have a conversation about naming his computer a woman's name, since he was always "playing" with it.
So, Samantha, seeing me on my computer says, "Mommy, there is more to life than that computer!"
... Mommy got off the computer, and promptly started playing with... you guessed it, the mini Disney princesses.
Happy Friday! Wish me luck on our adventure!
