Here are some of the latest conversations with the kids.
* Discussing "Dreams"
Sam: "Do you have a dream?"
Me: "Yup. I want to be an announcer at World Finals, I want to go to New Zealand, and I want to learn sign language. What about you?"
Sam: "I want to see the floating lights."
... I'm still not sure if we were discussing real dreams or Tangled.
* I think my driving habits may be rubbing off on the kids...
Sam: "Hey lady, SHARE the road! Where did you get your driving card? Walmart? Or Target, or something?!"
* On a grocery trip with just Samantha... discussing a zoo trip that she went on with her Grandma Bonnie
Sam: "Monkeys don't like cold. They're reallllllly smart. Almost as smart as Grandpa Joel."
Me: "Yeah, Grandpa Joel IS really smart. And he doesn't like the cold AT ALL."
Sam: "Noooooo. Yeah, and he's not hairy like monkeys though. Well not on his head. He's hairy on his belly."
* Samantha came into the bathroom AGAIN after one of my showers.
Sam: "Mom, what's that, and that, and that, and that on your arm?"
Me: "Freckles."
Sam: "What are those?"
Me: "When the sun kisses you, they show up."
Sam: "Whoa! The sun reallllllllllllllly likes to kiss you. Like, a whole lot. You've got freckles like everywhere!"
... Pauses... "Umm, mom, how'd you get the freckles on your tooshie?"
Me: "Uhhhhhhh.... That's a birthmark. Birthmarks are differen...t. You get those when you're born."
Sam: "WHO KISSES YOUR TOOSHIE WHEN YOU'RE BORN?!"
Me: "No one. They just show up. They are like angel blessings. They just show up."
Sam: "Oh. Good."
* Samantha on snow...
"Mommmmmmmmmmy! All the cars have grown beards and mustaches!"
* Sam noticing things:
Sam: "Hey Mommy, look what I found."
(Shows me a baby doll dress.)
" I wonder where it goes."
Me: "Probably to the naked baby doll."
Sam: "Yeah, I like it when you're real."
